Acumatica ERP

Acumatica is a cloud ERP platform covering financials, distribution, manufacturing, retail, construction, and professional services. It is licensed by the applications and resources you use rather than per user, so adding people to the system does not add to the bill. Onyx Technology resells it, implements it, integrates it, and supports it afterwards.

Priced by what you use, not by headcount

Acumatica prices on the applications you license and the transaction volume and resources you need, not on the number of named users. Everyone who needs the system can be given it, including warehouse staff, field engineers, and occasional approvers.

This is the platform’s clearest commercial difference, and it changes behaviour: per-seat ERP quietly encourages sharing logins and keeping people on spreadsheets at the edges, which is exactly where the data goes stale.

Editions built around an industry

The vendor publishes editions for General Business, Distribution, Manufacturing, Retail, Construction, and Professional Services. Each carries the functionality that industry actually runs on rather than a generic core with a long configuration project bolted to it.

The financial backbone is common to all of them: general ledger, payables and receivables, cash and tax management, fixed assets, multi-currency, intercompany accounting, and project accounting.

Customisation that survives the upgrade

Acumatica keeps customisations layered on top of the core product rather than cut into it, so an upgrade delivers new features without re-doing the work that made the system yours. Anyone who has run an ERP that was too modified to upgrade will recognise what that is worth.

Business users adjust workflows, reports, dashboards, and screens without code; developers get documented web APIs, webhooks, and standard Microsoft tooling when something genuinely needs building.

Reachable from wherever the work happens

The interface is browser-based, with mobile apps for iOS and Android, so a warehouse, a construction site, and a head office all work against the same live data rather than against yesterday’s export.

Dashboards and inquiries are built per role, which is the difference between a system leadership reads and a system leadership asks somebody else to summarise.

Deployment on your terms

Acumatica can be taken as a SaaS subscription that the vendor hosts and maintains, or as a private cloud subscription hosted where you choose, with you deciding when updates are applied.

For organisations with data residency obligations, or a considered view about where their finance system lives, that second option is often the one that makes the platform viable at all.

Onyx Technology’s role

Onyx Technology resells Acumatica and delivers it: choosing the right edition and licensing shape, configuring the modules, migrating your existing financial and operational data, integrating the systems you keep, training your staff, and supporting it afterwards.
